What to expect:

Over the course of your internship you will:


  • Complete the Victim Advocate training which includes: Sexual Violence 101, Domestic Violence 101, Child Abuse 101, Victimization via technology, Human Trafficking 101, Working with underserved and unserved populations, Suicide, and Victim Advocacy.
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team meeting
  • Participate in a sexual assault response team meeting
  • Observe a forensic interview
  • Support client intake process
  • Observe/support a victim advocacy session
  • Create and present on a special topic
  • Answer hotline calls
  • Participate in daily operations of the agency as requested

The Process

Intern candidate will complete the following:


  • Complete questionnaire
  • Interview with the Intern Coordinator & Executive Director
  • SLED & DSS Background Checks
  • Agency Orientation
